What we build with

A working library of components the studio actually uses, with the notes that do not appear in a datasheet. Grows out of the projects rather than ahead of them.

AS5047P14-bit magnetic rotary encoder. SPI timing is fussier than the datasheet implies.004
ESP32-S3Dual-core MCU with USB-OTG. Default controller for anything needing wireless and headroom.001 · Lab
INA240Bidirectional current-sense amplifier with strong PWM rejection.002
IRFP250NLinear-mode MOSFET. Selected on safe operating area, not current rating.002
MPU60506-axis IMU. Cheap, noisy, entirely usable once the gyro bias is calibrated at boot.001
STM32G4MCU with hardware CAN-FD and a fast ADC. Standard for closed-loop motion work.002 · 004
SX1276LoRa transceiver, 915 MHz. Sleep current is what matters, not transmit power.003
TB6612FNGDual H-bridge. Replaces the L298N in every build — lower drop, far less heat.001
TMC5160Stepper driver with StealthChop. Chopper frequency interferes with nearby SPI.004
TPS62840Buck converter, 60 nA quiescent. The reason the mesh survives overcast weeks.003

Each entry will grow into its own page — specifications, our own measurements, the projects it appears in, and where to buy it.
